Essential Pilates
A complete Pilates program to help you feel stronger, more supported, and more connected in your body
If your body has been feeling stiff, disconnected, or not quite as strong as it used to… this is where you begin.
Essential Pilates blends the original work of Joseph Pilates with modern biomechanics, so you’re not just doing exercises - you’re learning how your body actually works.
Maybe this is where you’re at right now…
Your spine feels stiff when you first get up.
Â
You’ve tried workouts and stretching… but nothing really seems to change how your body actually feels.
Your core is hard to “find.”
Â
Your back gets achy, even though you’re trying to take care of it.
You notice it in the small things - standing, sitting, moving through your day.
Here’s what most people get wrong
Most people think Pilates is about doing the exercises correctly or that they just need more strength or more stretching.
Â
But Essential Pilates works differently.
It trains the body from the deepest layers - closest to the bone - building strength from the inside out.
That’s what allows your spine to feel more supported, your core to actually engage, and your body to move differently.
“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a new body.”

WELCOME
I’m Mandy Froehlich. A self-proclaimed anatomy nerd and someone deeply passionate about the medicine of movement.
I’ve been teaching Pilates since 2003 and have spent over 20 years helping people feel better in their bodies. After a serious car accident at 16 that left me with a fractured neck, I had to rebuild strength and mobility in my spine from the ground up. That experience, along with my research into how the body heals and adapts, led me to Pilates because of its focus on supporting and strengthening the spine. Over the last two decades, this practice has been a big part of why I continue to feel strong, supported, and able to move well in my body.
I’m also a mom of three, over 40, and have personally navigated reconnecting to my core and supporting my spine through pregnancy and aging. My spinal health still surprises my doctors, and it’s because of this work.
Over the years, I’ve worked with thousands of clients and seen the same thing - people are doing Pilates exercises, but not actually feeling stronger or more supported in their body. Not because they aren’t trying, but because they haven’t been shown how to truly connect to the movement or understand what they’re supposed to feel. That’s why I created Essential Pilates. This approach blends the original work of Joseph Pilates with modern biomechanics so you can understand your body, support your spine, and build strength from the inside out. When you learn how to move this way, your body starts to feel different - more supported, more connected, and easier to move in.
My Approach
I don’t believe in rushing through exercises, forcing your body into positions, or cueing things like “engage your core” without ever showing you how. I also don’t believe that more reps or harder workouts are what fix how your body feels.
Instead, I focus on helping you understand your body and how to move it well. We start with the muscles closest to the spine and build strength from the inside out so you can actually feel your deep core, support your joints, and move with control without compensation.
I guide you differently than most programs. I’m not just telling you what to do. I’m helping you understand what you should feel and how to adjust so you’re not guessing. I’ll also cue you of what not to do because with all the hours of teaching, I know what 99% of bodies want to do. We are training it to do something different.
That’s what creates real change.
This Is For You If…
This Is For You If…
- You feel stiff or disconnected in your spine and want to move with more ease.
- Your core is hard to “find” and you want to actually feel it working.
- You’ve tried Pilates or workouts before, but nothing really clicked.
- You want to build strength without high-impact or aggressive movement.
- You deal with occasional back, hip, or shoulder discomfort and want more support.
- You like understanding what your body is doing, not just following along.
- You want a structured program you can stay consistent with.
- You’re ready to feel stronger, more supported, and more connected in your body.
This Is Not For You If…
- You’re looking for fast, high-intensity workouts with little focus on how you move.
- You prefer to rush through exercises rather than slow down and learn them.
- You want quick fixes instead of building strength that lasts.
- You’re not interested in understanding your body or how it works.
- You’d rather follow random workouts than a structured, progressive program.
- You’re not open to doing things differently than you have before.
Common Questions I Get
“I’m too stiff or too out of shape.”
“I don’t have time.”
“I won’t stick with it.”
“I’ve tried Pilates before and didn’t like it.”
Results and Feedback
After working with me, people don’t just feel like they got a workout. They feel a difference in how their body actually functions from the inside out.
Their core feels easier to engage instead of something they have to force. Their spine feels more supported throughout the day, not just during exercise. Movements that used to feel stiff or uncomfortable start to feel smoother and more natural.
A lot of clients tell me their back and hips feel better, their posture improves without thinking about it, and they feel more confident in how they move.
Once you know how to connect to your body, everything else starts to fall into place.

Your body isn’t the problem.
Most people were just never taught how to move in a way that actually supports them.
When you understand what to feel and how your body works, things start to click. Your core responds, your spine feels more supported, and movement starts to feel a lot more natural.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to make sense.
